Myriam Brouard

Myriam Brouard is Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Telfer School of Management of the University of Ottawa. She is a Consumer Culture Theorist working at the intersection of marketing and anthropology to understand what drives the adoption of disruptive technologies. Her research interests revolve around diversity, equity, and inclusion in technological spaces like Web3 and the Metaverse. She is particularly interested in how Black and Indigenous creators navigate these new spaces. Her work has been published in top business journals and presented at the most prestigious academic conferences. As an educator, she is launching the first Canadian cross-disciplinary course on EDI in business. This course is the concrete result of her involvement in the EDI committee at Telfer. Outside of research and academia, she has been and remains involved in many community-led organizations that work for the betterment of marginalized populations. She was an ambassador for inclusive governance with the Groupe des Trente in 2021. She sat on the Conseil Interculturel de Montreal in 2021-2022. In 2022, she founded the Noire Fungibles Alliance, a group of 60 Black women who are the brightest thought leaders and tastemakers in the Web3 space. Additionally, she currently sits on the board of 3 NPOs in the cultural sector.
